CALL TO ORDER

MINUTES OF JAN. MEETING, DEC. MEETING

PRESIDENT’S REPORT

  • -- Region 2 conference, Eckert’s proposal for group from MD, DC and VA to go by train to conf.
  • -- SPJ national board exec committee will meet in DC Sat. July 21 (following natl SDX Awards Dinner at Press Club Fri July 20). Should we consider planning an event with them while they are in town? Perhaps Nats game Sat. night or Sun afternoon?
  • -- March 15 deadline for applications for Scripps Leadership Conference fellowship.
  • -- March is “Membership Month.” Our natl prez, John Ensslin, is asking every chapter -- pro and student –- to hold one event “geared to recruiting, retaining members.”

  • -- Upcoming February programs
  •             -- SPJ DC Generation J Mixer Feb. 8 at Justin's Café.

  • -- Plan for contacting 25-, 30-year members about presenting pins at holiday party
  • -- Ben’s email about missing board meetings — discuss replacement?
