Fox 5's National Correspondent.He joined
WTTG-TV in January 1983 and for 10 years was the White House correspondent for channel 5 and all Fox stations.He launched his career in journalism in 1964 as a reporter for The Milwaukee Sentinel and came to the Washington area in 1967 as a reporter and anchor for WBAL-TV in Baltimore.He also worked at WMAR-TV in Baltimore and then came to WTOP-TV (now WUSA-TV) in Washington.
McGrath's reporting career has included the events of September 11th and their aftermath, including the discovery of anthrax on Capitol Hill; the impeachment proceedings against President Clinton; the Cold War Summit meetings between Presidents Reagan and Gorbachev; the famine in Ethiopia; the Falkland Islands War (from London); the rise and fall of Spiro Agnew and Marvin Mandel; national and local political campaigns and conventions and the Apollo 11 moon landing.McGrath has received two Emmys and a Silver Circle Award from The Washington chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
