Reuters just ran an interesting article about how these professional social networks have grown as more professionals look to build their networks, just in case the recession (and subsequent job loss) hits them.

Yes, it adds to the list of places to check every now and then, but what would you rather do, check to see is someone found a wandering cow in FarmVille or see if someone is hiring?
